MEET THE CAMP DIRECTORS!

  • Chris Roberts

    CO-DIRECTOR

    When he isn’t co-directing the Martha’s Vineyard Children’s Theater Camp, Chris teaches in the special education department at the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School and coaches in the West Tisbury girls’ basketball program. He is an original member of the TBD Improv Company and has appeared in numerous productions with Circuit Arts, including A Christmas Carol. He holds an MFA from Columbia University and a BFA from Southern Methodist University, and has performed internationally, in New York City, and regionally in productions ranging from classical to contemporary. Chris and his wife, Elle Lash, have lived on Martha’s Vineyard for nearly two decades. He is the proud father of a son and a daughter, along with an old scruffy dog, a maniacal orange cat, and five chickens.

  • Shelagh Hackett

    CO-DIRECTOR

    Shelagh has been a beloved presence in the Martha’s Vineyard arts community for decades, performing as an actress, singer, and comedian in various improv groups. She taught and directed at Island Theatre Workshop, alongside Lee Fierro and Mary Payne, and for over a decade directed school productions at the Oak Bluffs School. A graduate of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, and a former student of the Stella Adler Conservatory and National Shakespeare Conservatory, Shelagh brings deep theatrical training and a lifelong passion for performance and education.
