CIRCUIT ARTS’ CHILDREN’S THEATER CAMP AND MARTHA’S VINEYARD PLAYHOUSE’S SUMMER STARS ARE MERGING IN 2026!
+
As you may have read, Circuit Arts and the Martha’s Vineyard Playhouse are planning to merge. It’s an exciting development for the local arts community and also means great things for our theater campers.
This year, we are joining forces with the Martha’s Vineyard Playhouse’s Summer Stars to create an expanded, reimagined theater camp experience for Island kids. By combining the strengths of our Martha’s Vineyard Children’s Theater Camp and Summer Stars, we’re able to offer a richer, more expansive experience for young performers.
What does that mean for families?
It means more weeks of camp, access for more kids, an outdoor theater venue for the campers’ presentations, and new creative pathways for theater study, like improv classes, Shakespeare, and musical theater. What won’t change is the creativity, care, and joyful approach to theater that have made both programs so beloved.
Here’s what families can expect:
A one-week session format that allows campers to dive into a complete creative experience each week
Eight weekly sessions, beginning the week of June 29
Up to 60 campers per session, grouped by age and interests
Exploration of theatrical disciplines such as musical theater, comedy, Shakespeare, improv, and dance
Programming held Monday through Thursday at the Martha’s Vineyard Public Charter School
Fridays at the Tisbury Amphitheater to accommodate end-of-week performances
Camp hours from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., offering a full and engaging day
Experienced lead counselors and a dedicated team of teaching artists and counselors
A supportive, creative environment where campers build skills, confidence, and friendships while celebrating the joy of making theater
We can’t wait to welcome returning campers and new families to this next chapter of summer theater on the Vineyard. Thank you for being part of this growing creative community!
